No signal on Samsung Galaxy S i9000

Many users are facing problems on Galaxy S with signal, as they install CM7 but never know why the device does not get signal/connectivity.

This usually happens in devices where the preinstalled Android version (Froyo/Gingerbread/etc.) do not have compatible Basebands. in such cases, the baseband needs to be flashed manually for the Device to receive signal.

SOLUTION:

here are steps for flashing the correct Baseband for your Galaxy S:

Cyanogenmod 7 on Gingerbread 2.3.3

Prior knowledge of Odin needed.
If you flashed CM7 over Gingerbread and you don't get any signal(can't make calls) it's an issue with your baseband. You need to flash in the correct modem. Since you were using Gingerbread, note down your baseband, before you flash in CM7. Mine was DDJV4.

You will find most firmwares at www.sammobile.com

- Flash CM7 with CWM(clockworkmod)

Now for the baseband, you need version DDJV6, which can be found in the firmware pachkage link given below:

- Fire up Odin

- Uncheck Re Partition

- Keep Auto Reboot on

- Put in the modem file(The one with PC) into the PC field of Odin

- Let Odin do the work

- Phone would reboot

- Use CM7
